About this deal

When she’s not writing, she’s working out, binge-watching reality game shows, and spending time with her friends and family. I also liked the fact that she emphasized the struggle to get specialized help for mental issues when you have no money. I loved every single thing about this story, and I feel like once you read it, you’ll understand what I mean. Il faut lire si on aime les personnages qui vivent des situations difficiles dans leurs relations familiales pendant leur enfance et leur adolescence et qui les perturbent comme adultes.

With rumors of him being drafted to the NFL coming to fruition, I know it’s only a matter of time before we have to say goodbye again. What the heroine went through was really sad and I liked that the heroine continued to work through her issues and just because she and the hero got together she isn't all of a sudden fixed. I mean… it actually includes a lot of sports references including the team mates, the coach and playing the aforementioned sport.

His love for football wasn't his entire personality either -- he was just such an inherently good person, and I just adored him. Early on the mystery behind what happened between Ivy and Aiden fascinated me, but also the way Aiden was surprised at how Ivy behaved led me to assume that the Ivy that Aiden was reunited with wasn’t the same girl he knew from years ago when they were kids. Even though her parents kept a roof under her head and fed her, it was still a painful experience to live there.

As the story begins, we find out that when the mfc left all those years ago, she tried to get the mmc to leave his perfect family and go with her. It’s easy to listen to because it's written in (mostly) feminine first person with a smooth female narrator. Ivy is a selfless mess, hiding her difficult upbringing behind a heavy dose of stubbornness and sarcasm. There is a lot of family drama and I genuinely felt so sorry for the heroine, cause I can't imagine not having the support my parents give me and the fact that she didn't have that, its no wonder she went through so much.

With rumors of him being drafted to the NFL coming to fruition, Ivy knows it's only a matter of time before they have to say goodbye again. With Ivy’s struggles and past always being something she had to face, to Aiden trying to help in any way possible for Ivy, this story was sad, at times dark, deep, and heartfelt.

So the night I snuck out of his bedroom window after hugging him goodbye, I’d accepted I’d probably never see him again. childhood friends (to enemies ish) to lovers is one of my all time favorite tropes and this was done absolutely perfectly. For starters I kept having to flick back thinking I'd missed key parts of the story like how they were separated and then suddenly appeared in each others lives again.

This had some very heavy themes (please DM for trigger warnings), but she counter balances it with the football team’s antics, friendships and lots of steam. Ivy is far from perfect, but I found her backstory and reasoning behind her choices tragic and compelling. Ivy finally has her life back on track and the last thing she expected was to run into the boy who turned her away. It sucked me in from the very beginning and not one moment did I find myself not completely captivated by Ivy and Aiden’s story.I don’t think I’ve read any of the author’s books before but this one surely made me want to check out her other titles in her back catalogue because I enjoyed it quite a lot. Aiden was having big dreams and he was working very hard to achive his goals, but he couldn't lose Ivy for a second time.
