About this deal

In his free time, Shane loves going for runs and playing with his 16-year-old beagle Butterscotch. Butters for short, she has been the greatest love of his and inspires him everyday, both creatively and emtionally. On top of that, he's now a huge collector. He loves Funko Pop, McFarlane Toys, and Neca's huge line of horror figures. In the last two years he has been going to a lot of conversations to buy an unhealthy amount of figures. This has also allowed him to meet some of his favorite filmmakers/actors like Mike Flanagan, Matthew Lillard, John Carpenter, Grace Caroline Curry, Steve Burns and Kathryn Newton. After the Mission Masters set Hasbro started making figures for the Batman: The Animated Series spin-off TV show, Batman Beyond. A Batman related show set in the future with even darker themes than it’s parent show. Batman Beyond starred a new Batman, Terry McGinnis, who was mentored by an aging Bruce Wayne. When two shots rang out, Bruce Wayne’s life changed forever. He pledged himself to justice and he has upheld that oath for years. Wearing many names—the Dark Knight, the World’s Greatest Detective, the Caped Crusader—he has battled tragic foes like The Joker, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze, and so many more. But deep inside, he knows that he shares something with them that most of humanity wouldn’t understand—a commitment to the fight.

Along with offering characters that were new to the Batman: The Animated Series world, DC Direct wanted to give fans of the series who had missed out on some of the earlier figures a new chance to add them to their collection. Along with the new characters, the Batman: The Adventures Continue line will also include some older and harder-to-find figures, like the Joker, Robin and Catwoman, with all new cel-shaded paint decos. The Catwoman figure will also come with a brand-new head sculpt of her without her cowl. The New Batman Adventures set led into a different toy line from Hasbro called Mission Masters, which had a total of four toy series. It also led to some interesting action figure and tech mashups. When I saw Ty’s first models , they were very much like the original models on the series that Bruce Timm did,” he shares. “Bruce would always draw his models in action poses, and he would draw a character in motion first before he did the stiff turnaround. That is what Ty did for the new characters, such as Red Hood.” Templeton was just as excited to be working on the comics as he was to be working on the action figures. Clayface: Ol’ Matt Hagen here is big, lumpy, and kind of gross, as he should be. Excellent sculpt, and the firing mace hand is just flat-out awesome. While as a kid we would understandably gravitate more toward the hero figures, I think as adults we can appreciate a truly well-made villain all the more. Especially when it’s as cool as Clayface here.

The Jokermobile: The only thing I dislike about this is that it never appeared in the series, because this is 100% something Joker would have driven around in. And the launching smile missile is simply perfect. Action figures for Batman: The Animated Series were released immediately after the premiere of the show in 1992. The toys were produced by Kenner. During the show’s time on air, Kenner released four series of action figures ( Series 1, Series 2, Series 3 and Series 4) along with vehicles and playlets. Collect all additional DC Animated Figures; Superman and Green Lantern as well as other McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse figures . Figures sold separately.

From that thought arose the idea of designing figures based on some of DC’s most beloved characters that had never appeared on the animated series or utilizing popular characters that had been created after the show had aired.Batcycle: Great design, and I’m pretty sure it has pull-and-release action. That’s much better than a ripcord. No other notes. Infrared Batman: Love the look of the suit itself, as the deep red as kind of an update of the Batman: The Movie poster (which I think I’ve said about another figure in another line). The accessory is just kind of whatever, not moving the needle one way or the other. No name strikes terror into the hearts of Gotham’s citizens quite like the Joker. In a city overrun with larger-than-life criminals, the always-laughing villain stands alone. A complete psychopath with no moral compass whatsoever, the Joker, whose real name and identity remain completely unknown, is characterized by his chalk-white skin, green hair and a permanent rictus grin stretched across his face. But there isn’t a single thing funny about this particular clown, who only finds humor in the suffering of others. The Batman: The Animated Series action figure line had a bit of a confusing history with the move to Hasbro, the multiple spin-off television series, and the many repainted figures. I’ve done my best to untangle it here but I also wanted to use this article to discuss the new figures coming out currently. These new figures are turning heads and generating toy headlines.

Catwoman: Her pose is better than Batman’s, but kind of awkward. I would have liked it more had she had her hand on her hip, exuding grace, confidence, and a bit of danger. This just looks like she’s saying “rawr!” DC Comics digital-first series available in both digital and print editions; Season One, Two and Three complete and on sale Batman: The Adventures Continue is the definition of a labor of love. The comics and new action figures show that the story Dini, Burnett, Timm and so many others started telling in 1992 still goes on, and we can only guess where things may take us next. It’s enough to make everyone who watched the classic series as a kid feel like one again. The Riddler: Not a bad Nygma at all. Kind of wish the question mark bazooka had more color, but being able to type “question mark bazooka” made my day, so it’s a wash. The Joker: Genuinely love the gas mask, and the gun that squirts water is a nice touch. Something about this just seems a bit plain and uninspired, though, even if I can’t quite put my finger on it.Batman: A solid, good looking Batman. Very, very basic, though, when most of the other figures look much more interesting. What happened after the show ended…?” wonders Fletcher. “All of these characters had been created, like Deathstroke, Red Hood and, most recently, the Batman Who Laughs. So we said, ‘This could be a cool way to continue the line and really create something fans would want to own.’”
