Cricut Smart Materials are materials that are specifically designed to be cut without a Cricut mat. Matless cutting with was introduced with Cricut Joy in 2020, but it’s now expanded to Cricut Explore 3 and Cricut Maker 3. Plus, the Cricut Explore 3's cutting speed is dramatically faster when using the Smart Materials, easily twice as fast. The Cricut Explore 3 allows you to print-then-cut on white or colored materials, whereas you can only print-then-cut on white materials with the Explore Air 2. The product offered by the competitor is exactly the same as the one we sell, and is offered on the same terms I don’t have the Cricut Explore 3 to test yet, but I cut the same file (Cricut Design Space #M910B84D) on my Cricut Maker and my Cricut Maker 3 to show the difference in speed. The Cricut Explore 3 should be similarly faster. The machine case color has been updated to a matte mint green and the size of the tool cup on the left side of the machine has been made bigger. You do not need the Cricut Roll Holder to use Smart Materials, but it does make corralling and trimming materials easier. Cricut Explore 3 is one of the next generation of Cricut cutting machines, which also includes Cricut Maker 3.
