Though they only talk to each other one time in the script, Hammy is seen around Heather's company somewhat often, so it can be assumed that they're friends of some caliber. This isn't conveyed very well, though. Teachers need to prepare their timetables and lessons; planning a shopping list is useful when going to the supermarket; people in government plan for what they think is best for our country. Many special occasions take a lot of planning, e.g. weddings, christenings. The children might like to help you make a list of some of these. Soon the days became shorter and the weather became colder. It was not so much fun playing any more. Sammy could not find enough food to eat. He was cold and hungry. His nest let in the rain and he began to feel very miserable. The other squirrels only laughed at him and told him it served him right for being so lazy. They refused to help him and turned him away. Brave-Hearted Sammy - How a Fearful Squirrel Overcame His

Firstly, they showed Sammy where he could find the best nuts in the entire forest. This way when he finally climbed up a tree he would have something tasty waiting for him at the top. Sammy had become a hero in the forest. All of his friends and even other animals who lived far away knew that he was always ready to help overcome their fears. Whether it was climbing tall trees, crossing a river, or facing any other challenge, Sammy was always there with a smile on his face. Whenever his friends suggested they climb a tall tree to collect some extra nuts for winter, Sammy’s heart would race with fear. He just couldn’t bring himself to do it. Later in the film, Verne attempts to return all the stolen food to the humans in an attempt to keep the humans from wanting to kill them after Dwayne (the Verminator) arrives. He gets in a fight with RJ that destroys all the food. Hammy - displaying a non-hyper attitude for once - is deeply upset when Verne gets in an argument with the rest of the family and calls them stupid. Hammy replies solemnly, "I'm not stupid". From then on out whenever any animal needed assistance getting up high into a tree or whenever someone felt too scared or unsure about anything -they’d call on little brave-hearted Sammy who now happily climbed tall heights without fear!If used at harvest time, remind the children that throughout history people in many different nations have prepared for winter by gathering in the crops, fruit and vegetables to provide food for themselves and their animals. Harvest festivals are a way of being thankful for the food we eat. In the short film "Hammy's Boomerang Adventure", RJ hosts his own show called "RJ's Wide World of Nature". He and the porcupine kids sneak up on Hammy and secretly expose him to a boomerang to see how he behaves with it. An OHP/whiteboard would be useful so that the audience can join in the prayer; a whiteboard and pen if a list is to be made. The other animals in the forest couldn’t believe it either! They watched in awe as Sammy scurried up and down trees with ease. Some even asked him to teach them how to climb too! Sammy the squirrel loved to play with his friends in the forest. They would chase each other up and down the trees, collecting nuts and berries along the way. But there was one thing that scared Sammy more than anything else - climbing trees!
